According to Kantar Millward Brown’s BrandZ ™ Ranking and WPP, Toyota is again in 2018 the most valuable automotive brand in the world, with a value of 29,987 billion dollars and a 5% growth in its brand value.
Then appears Mercedes Benz, which takes the 2nd position to BMW thanks to a 9% growth in its brand value, reaching 25,684 billion dollars. BMW grows 4% in brand value and ranks as the third most valuable automotive brand in the world with a value of 25,624 billion dollars.
Ford and Honda follow, both with values over 12 billion dollars. Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Ford and Honda are the five automotive brands that have entered the 2018 BrandZ ™ ranking of the 100 most valuable brands in the world.
Out of the ranking of the 100 most valuable brands in the world, we find Tesla, which for the second consecutive year is the automotive brand with the highest growth in 2018, practically doubling the growth of 2017. Thanks to an increase of 60% it achieves a value of 9,415 billion dollars in 2018.
In 2018 we found two new additions to the ranking of the 10 most valuable automotive brands. On the one hand, Maruti Suzuki, in the # 9 position with a value of 6.375 billion dollars and another Volkswagen, which didn’t make it to the ranking since 2015, and in 2018 is positioned as the tenth most valuable automotive brand with a value of 5.986 billion dollars.
In 2018, the total brand value of the top 10 automobile brands is 149,565 billion dollars, more than a 7% increase compared to 2017.
