Sales of Ford cars in the USA up 1.2% in June

Ford Motor Co reported on Tuesday a 1.2% increase in its sales of cars in the United States in June, thanks to a new delivery record of its sport utility vehicles (SUV).

The second US automaker said it sold 230,635 vehicles in June, compared to 227,979 units in the same month last year.

Sales of Ford brand SUVs increased 8.1% to 77,453 vehicles.

A survey of economists conducted by Reuters showed expectations of a seasonally adjusted annual sales rate for the entire US auto industry of 17 million vehicles in June.
