Marriott International signed an agreement with GNV Group to disembark for the first time with its W Hotels Worldwide brand in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
It is expected that the hotel, with its characteristic Whatever / Whenever service, will open its doors in 2024 and will have an estimated investment of US $100 million.
Both the hotel and its residences will be located in the same 35-story multipurpose tower, ready to set trends in the modern Puerto Madero in the heart of the city.
“We are proud to work together with the GNV Group to bring the unparalleled W experience to Madero Harbor, a development with high aspirational level and in one of the most desirable areas in all of Buenos Aires,” said Laurent de Kousemaeker, Development Director of Marriott International in the Caribbean and Latin America.
“Puerto Madero is close to becoming one of the most coveted luxury destinations in Latin America with its homes, office complexes and different businesses that thrive within this modern atmosphere, complemented by generous outdoor spaces and an entertaining nightlife,” added the executive.
W Buenos Aires will be designed by the internationally renowned architect Carlos Ott and the local studio BMA, making reference to culture, heritage and passion for design. The proposal includes meeting spaces, restaurants and a bar on the terrace with a panoramic view of the city, which will accompany the 150 rooms planned for the hotel.
“Buenos Aires is a city that never sleeps and, like the W brand, is full of creative energy,” said Ivan Ginevra, vice president of GNV Group. “The combination of the city’s phenomenal nightlife, rich and impressive architecture and cultural heritage make it one of the most inspiring and passionate capitals, and it’s perfect for W guests, who live to the beat, and who seek the unexpected”.
“We are very proud to be chosen by Marriott International to partner in this incredible project, which will change the urban landscape of Buenos Aires, and help turn Puerto Madero into the most extraordinary point of the city,” said Alejandro Ginevra, president of GNV Group.
W Buenos Aires will join the solid portfolio of the W hotel brand in Central America and South America, including W Bogotá, W Costa Rica, W Mexico City, W Panama, W Punta de Mita and W Santiago.
